Fantasies of Fall
Every September I go through an “end of summer” mourning period. I truly LOVE summer!! Everything about it! But this weekend we had a cold front (as far as cold front go in Texas). It was overcast and in the 60’s and breezy all day Saturday and only the 70’s Sunday. So, to stave off the gloomy weather depression, my thoughts turn to all the positives of the season!
I do get excited about the change in wardrobe. Although I am most comfortable in shorts and tank tops, it’s fun to pull out the long boots and jeans and sweaters.
Plaids in bright colors with creams, browns and khakis is oh so cozy!
I’m an Aggie fan so maroon is a must! I’m so glad it’s pretty popular right now! Gig’em!
Animal prints with skinny jeans and orange accents make me happy as well 🙂
I’ll be honest, I’m punching these keys with navy nail polish. Something I never thought I’d use, dark nail polish! And I really like it!
Fall Color Ways
I mentioned in a recent post, how popular Navy and orange combos are right now. Take a look at these great designs
The orange tufted settee is stunning with the gorgeous navy-teal backdrop. Not to mention the floor design! All make up an amazing fall-inspired vignette.
More navy toned walls paired with a softer orange in the animal print ottomans and the velvet pillows.
I am drawn, more and more, to mid-century modern pieces. I love this table and chairs in front of (once again) gorgeous navy walls. The window treatment in this room adds beautiful texture as well! The black and white in the rug really breaks up the dark tones and textures of the room.
On the lighter side of fall, a break from the dark navy walls, these windows are STUNNING!! I really love the tufted orange sofa and patterned ottoman. But still some blue accents are so charming!
I do see fall as a pathway to Christmas which is my sweet-spot. But Pinterest has made it fun to add a little fall decor before the grandness that is Christmas begins.
In the past decade, they’ve finally allowed the “uglies” of the pumpkin patch in on the fun. Don’t you think they do a great job of breaking up the monotony of your typical orange pumpkins?
There are so many great choices for fall planting. This lil creation would be a great welcome for your guests!
I’ve seen this charming wreath over the past few years on pinterest. I am so drawn to the miniature pumpkins and the burlap ribbon. Of course the navy door doesn’t hurt!
The closer we get to Fall RoundTop I get excited about fall tablescape ideas.
Miniature pumpkins, moss and an old box of your choosing and boom! Cutest table-topper ever!
Add some ivy and same idea! The moral of the story here, is to stock up on mini pumpkins!!
Oh my, Oh my! I LOVE this table! They had me at “blue transfer-ware”!
OMG!!! I challenge you to stop what you are doing RIGHT NOW and click here for the above recipe, to get in the fall spirit!!
A fall staple, really. Caramel Corn popcorn!
