Purple is such a lovely color! Rich, vibrant, royal, artistic, eccentric, unique. These are the feelings that arise when we think of purple.
It is the color of royalty, so you can’t help but feel special when you wear purple! That hat for sure gives off an eccentric vibe, right?
These purple flowers are vibrant to say the least! Especially against the striped navy background, they do command attention.
Purple might not be the first color that comes to mind when it comes to an “adult” space. By the way, the concept of an “adult space” is sad to me! Why? Why must I think of adult spaces!?! Just kidding… Sort of.
But, maybe some of these images will change your mind. This grasscloth?? looking purple wallpaper is fabulous! Combined with the turquoise sideboard, this room is definitely in the “vibrant” category and yet very “grown-up” It sort of says “Yes, I’m an adult, but I still have loads of fun!”
And this room!! It looks like a huge water-color canvas and I LOVE IT!! Artistic to say the least. It offers tons of personality, interest and “adultness” while saying you don’t take yourself too seriously!
This dining room is both rich and unique with purple velvet chairs with nailhead trim. It is really beautiful and fun alive with personality all at the same time.
In my own home, we used lavender in my daughter’s room (click on the link to see the full reveal and get all the details) and she loves it! We combined a selection of bright colors via the pillows and floral wallpaper. Even using a darker purple fabric!
Another fun trick is to add color on your ceiling. In Mady’s room, we used the same shade of Ben Moore Purple Ice and added 50% white. It also helps draw the eye up toward her super fun loft!
How do you feel about purple? Do you use it in your home?
Happy Hump-Day!
