Your front door is the place where people decide to enter or not. It the last thing they see before they enter your world! What impression does it give of what’s inside? Does it represent you well?
I know it sounds funny, but it’s something to think about and evidently people are! Strangely enough it’s one of the questions I’m asked most! What color should I paint my front door? And what’s even more interesting, is this is a difficult question to answer for strangers. I need to know a little something about you first! The above pic is my own home, and I know it’s shocking! My door is lipstick red!! It’s intentional! I’ll tell you why… I’ve chosen my favorite examples of front doors using the colors of the rainbow! Because this is my blog and I LOVE color!!
Red evokes more emotion than any other color. it speaks excitement to me. I want my guests to feel like the experience they are in for on the other side of my front door is going to be fun! It also conjures up feelings of love. I want my guests to know they are walking into a safe place full of love.
Orange (like Red) is another warm color. It also evokes feelings of energy, strength and fun! Anyone with an orange door is more than likely a very social person!
Yellow is a stimulating choice. It speaks of creativity and joy on the other side! A home with a front door is sure to offer much laughter and acceptance on this inside! I can’t imagine being able to walk through a yellow door and feel sad!
If you want to convey to your guests that your home is a place for tranquility, peace and rest, green is your color! It is a calming choice that will speak a soothing feeling to your company.
Blue is America’s favorite color! Hard to go wrong with a shade of blue. I think it’s a great choice, especially if you live in a warm client. It evokes feelings of cooling. Come in the home to be refreshed!
Kindness, compassion, inspiration are all emotions that go hand in hand with the color purple. That’s a front door that would for sure draw my interest! Creating is another emotion that is drawn from the color purple.
Still feel like you need guidance? I’ve compiled my top Ben Moore colors for your front door, from the rainbow spectrum…
