The Tulip Chair
This pic is from Better Homes and Gardens in 1972! Tulip chairs were all the hype then. And…
They’re back! This time they are often paired with more traditional tables such as this example. It adds a fun element to a potentially stuffy setting.
In order to carry on with the tulip chair, we have to push past the dull golds and avocado greens from the 70’s and pull out the good from the bad. The very very bad!!
This is a great example of the possibilities, absent the 70’s yuck. Here with the wood floors and cream paneled walls, they actually look chic!
Or you could get really retro and combine the “good” from a few decades! These 60’s kitchen cabinets are really so cool with the 70’s tulip chairs and table!
Of course, Architectural Design takes a cool idea and makes it outstanding! Here the tulip chairs are clear acrylic on a silver base! LOVE!
Jenny-Mike Tulip Chairs
I really wanted to incorporate this blast from the past somehow into the Jenny-Mike House. I was THRILLED when I found these bad boys at Round Top this past spring…
They are, at the moment in the hands of a very capable and trustworthy lady, who is in the process of making a few minor repairs and touch-up paint. I cannot wait to show you the finished product! They will be in the gameroom!
What do you think about the tulip chair?
