The Family Room
For my second reveal of this project, lets go back to the front of the house! The Family Room!
Biggest Connection Zone, right!?! Well, maybe next to the kitchen. This is what I like to think of as my “grown-up” room. Or at least as grown-up as I’m going to get.
These doors were custom designed as I wanted them to serve as a frame to God’s landscaping in the backyard. I really love them so I didn’t want big heavy furniture to block them from sight. I was so excited when I found these antique fretwork bamboo chairs at Mecox Dallas.
The drapery is a fabric by Brunschwig & Fils. It was the perfect scale for these doors and I loved the reds, greens, and blues! Also the antique white Hickory Chair table was the perfect size for conversations between the two occupants of the bamboo chairs.
This Ralph Lauren chandelier was Jeff’s contribution to this room. He’s VERY proud of his choice! It’s very ranchy! Don’t you think?
A touch of leather and additional seating for this family room! I like to pack in as many people as I can! Ha!
I adore the rug, however it has caused many a panic attack where our pets are concerned! Ugh! I don’t know if it was worth the effort and price tag! I’m beginning to think something like this can only exist without pets. I’m sorry I choose the pets
Bookshelves on each side of the fireplace add a little more decor and warmth to the space.
I LOVE these Robert Abbey lipstick-red lamps with a gold interior on the shades. I sort of wanted them to be the focal point for this side of the room.
This Lee Industries sofa entered our family a couple of years ago and we love it! It is super comfy and deep! Perfect for decorative pillows! The red fabric is a Robert Allen sort of Chinoiserie pattern that you’ll see again throughout my house. It is so vibrant and rich!
This is an antique glass and solid brass coffee table (it is über heavy!) that I found at Mecox Dallas. I love the brass design that shows up under the glass!
Standing in the Family Room you have a perfect view of the bright red front door, beyond this Restoration Hardware table that I’ve had for 6 years. It never gets old.
These fun chairs are actually CR Laine glider rockers disguised as something much more cool and sleek! They are super comfortable, and as they both face the tv, we sort of all fight over them!
The red garden stool is another fabulous find from Mecox Houston.
As you can see, this being my most “formal” room, I don’t really believe in the concept of formal! Rather, I believe in family and every space being available for connecting!

I really hope you all enjoyed this “Family Room Reveal”! I’d love to hear what you think!
Happy Connection Monday!
