This very day, 21 YEARS AGO (gulp) I had this lil’ guy.

Jade Tamplin was born on Sunday, August 14th @ 5:22 pm.  Destined to be an Aggie, he was born IN Aggieland, College Station, Tx.  And our lives changed forever!  At 20 years old, I was thrust into mother-hood head first and I could not have been more blessed.

I know it sounds cliché, but to say “I’m proud of this kid” is a profound understatement.  He has been the light to this family in so many ways since the day he entered this world!

Where ever we went, Jade was the life of the party.  Never too shy for a good laugh or too tired for some sort of race or competition, he kept us on our toes constantly!

He was an only child for 21 months and then life just got better, in his eyes.  And mine…

I believe it takes a special guy for God to see fit to make him the oldest of three sisters.  When he was little, people would ask him how it was living with all those sisters.  Jade would just look at them like, “What do you mean?  Is there any other way?”  I think he would still say, he wouldn’t have it any other way.  He is an awesome big brother to these three.

Jade, You are often the rudder in this family.  Steering all of us toward JOY, you are an absolute jewel.

I am so thankful for you and the ways that you take care of those around you.  You are a hard worker and we are very proud of your accomplishments.  But more importantly, you are a great friend to so many and by far my FAVORITE son!

While we try our best to remain incognito, your dad and I are so thankful to have the privilege of being so physically close to you during your time at A&M.

I pray the Lord blesses you and holds you close as you continue to grow into the man he intends you to be.  It is nothing short of an honor to witness this transition.

Thanks for letting me be your mom and embarrass you while I boast that “THIS is my son, in whom I am well pleased.”

I love you, Mom.

Happy Family Friday!
