“And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb, and by their testimony.”

Revelation 12:11a

This is the verse that continues to reverberate through my brain right now.

Jeff and I, are indeed “at it again”.  We spent our honeymoon in Grand Cayman and it was an amazing time.

I won’t, however, begin writing posts from here on out about my perfect life, perfect marriage, and perfect family because that concept does not exist.

The truth is, we did indeed have an amazing and blessed 2nd wedding (which I will most definitely share in detail once I have the pics).  And the 2nd honeymoon was WAY better than the 1st (If 2 days in a hurricane on the Gulf-Coast can be considered a honeymoon).  Take a look at 22 years ago…

I WAS 19!!! (With that big bow!)

I seriously just now noticed the boat in the back ground and I can’t stop laughing at the irony!  “Polly Anna”  lol.  Everything was perfect! (not so much)

Jeff was barely 24! (with that tall hair!!)

I did have a blast planning this shindig throughout the past few months, and celebrating with our biggest supporters!  They even talked me into floating down the lazy river in my 22 year old fantastically embellished sleeves wedding dress.

This whole idea began, when I (being a smart a$$) sent this to my girlfriends a few days before the wedding…

Hope Harrold (of course) had the grand idea that I bring it and go swimming in it.  So, obviously, I did!

ALL of these events were the best and such a blessing!

But we still live in this fallen world where satan reigns.

So in the midst of all the blessings, loved ones have passed away, arguments have ensued, plenty of tears have fallen, feelings have been hurt (even crushed), angry words have been spoken, gossip has flourished, etc. etc…

LIFE HAS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN

Here’s where my crossroads appeared.

I spent lots of time on the beach last week really contemplating where I feel lead with this blog.

I am inspired and want to inspire others with pretty things, homes, interiors, design ideas!  However, to stop there would not be an honest destination for ME personally.  There are thousands of design blogs (way better than mine) that don’t ever get personal and I LOVE THEM!  I love knowing there is a spot I can go and zone out with pretty pictures and expert design ideas.  But this approach would absolutely not be true to what I feel I’m called to.  It honestly, would not be true to my brand.

This decision of a clear direction for this blog, has been a tough road.   A hard battle fought.  Rest assured, I’ve met many difficult obstacles in many forms.   And These obstacles have threatened to stop me in my tracks.

This was my mental state just in time to head to Grand Cayman and plop our exhausted selves on the beach for some much needed stillness and meditation.

Let me stop here with a disclaimer… I want to confess, in the spirit of “keeping it real”, that I have certainly not been camping out in the Bible the past 3 years.  Which, ironically, is one of the many cool lessons from this whole thing.  God is most definitely long-suffering and He is ALWAYS faithful even when I am not… And I’m usually not.

So, being true to His character, He met me on the beach in Grand Cayman and He spoke directly to my hurts and concerns.

“And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their TESTIMONY.”

I remembered this verse in Revelation.  My resolve returned.  My testimony!  While I hope to inspire you to a prettier living space, I long so much more to aid in defeating the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and by MY TESTIMONY!  So, I’ve come back to America with a new resolve to continue to boldly share my testimony.  The REAL ONE!  Not the “everything is perfect” “Polly Anna” one.  And to trust that God will continue to shine His light on obstacles that have been placed on the very path that HE has prepared for me and Jeff.

So, in that spirit I want to share the REAL Grand Cayman Honeymoon with you!!

Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman

We LOVE Grand Cayman!  We had a great room!  However, apparently this week in May is their slowest time which should be (and mostly was) a score!  But, because it’s a slow time, they do repairs during this week!  So, at 8 am our first morning we woke to power tools!!

So, we LIVED on the beach!!  Which is such a sacrifice!  Hahahahaha!

AND the pool!  It was a rough week!

We never actually asked another person to take a pic of us.  So, selfies it is!  We ate WELL all week!

This was in the lobby of the Ritz.

I am so unbelievably thankful for this man and the second chance we’ve been given.  I know I’ve said it before, but we are so thankful for our peops that have walked with both of us through this hurricane.

Perhaps, a couple drinks in!  We laughed a lot on this trip, which is such a miracle!  We are not only one again, but having fun at the same time!

Beware of the cruise ships!!  It’s nice to just stay at the resort when these suckers are parked down the beach!  This little island fills up fast!

Turn the page
Turn the corner
Open the cage
Cut the locks
We’re starting over
I don’t wanna live this way

We made it through hell and back again
We were slipping through the cracks, staring at the end
Ohhoohoo, and we brave the weather
Hurricane, couldn’t take you from me
I’m holding on tight and I still believe
Ohhoohoo, yeah it just gets better

A quiet rage
A screaming silence is all around
Let me in
The world we built is crashing down

We made it through hell and back again
We were slipping through the cracks, staring at the end
Ohhoohoo, and we brave the weather
Hurricane, couldn’t take you from me
I’m holding on tight and I still believe
Ohhoohoo, yeah it just gets better

(Hurricane, Lifehouse)

Happy Family Friday!
