So, it’s football season! Living in Aggieland (and for that matter, Texas) Football Season is more important than just about any other season. We take it pretty seriously. And I do realize there are college towns all over the world, but I contend there is just nothing like tailgating Aggies!
But, I really LOVE this time of year! Not only because the Aggies are doing AWESOME, but also because of gatherings with friends and family. Around here, tailgating is an event! And we’ve found some great friends (whose families will be showcased on “Family Friday” soon) who have so generously invited us to their tailgate! I seriously love it! I really enjoy all of our new friends! Salt of the earth people! I cannot wait to write about them on this blog! They are inspiring families! Thick as thieves, these people have spent the last 2 decades raising their kids together and inviting new families into the mix without hesitation!
I don’t know how I got away from the tailgate without more pics of these awesome folks! I will make it my mission to do better next game!
This is the only adult pic that emerged from the weekend. This is my sister, Dara. Truthfully I’ve only known her for a year now, but I’m telling you, we are soul-sisters. The first time we did something social together, we both emerged wearing the same sweater. We often burst out with the same comments (appropriate and inappropriate) LOL. Bless her, she’s stuck with me. I just read a sign this week that said “You’ll always be my best friend. You know too much.” This is perfect! She DOES know all! And still loves me! God was so gracious when he put her in my life! I love you, Dara!
However, in addition to our new framily, about 10 of my Midland teens also crashed the tailgate!
I miss my Emma, who is away in Nashville for college, so so deeply, but seeing these 2nd hand daughters takes the edge off a little. Disclaimer: the one on the far right is all mine as well. They’re all so tall!
Besides the silly smirk on that middle child (Who does she belong to anyway), these girls are all “members” of the best tailgate in Aggieland, and good friends to the Tamplins! (The stalker in the back is mine as well)
Two of my original babies (Jade, and Audrey) and one of my adopted babies, Kendal cheesin for me.
Moving across the state has not been easy. It’s been some adjusting, to say the least. We do LOVE it here and are so thankful for our new framily! But it’s therapy to my soul to see these kids, who practically lived at our house in Midland. I have missed them to my core!
So Gig’Em on this Family Friday!! Hope you’re having an awesome day!!
