So, it’s September!  And even though it’s still 90 degrees here in Aggieland, everyone on Instagram has inspired me to bring out the “Fall” in my home!  I’m not a huge fan of fall colors but I have to admit, this little project got my creative juices flowing!

Right now, I’m confining the seasonal changes to the dining room.  In case you forgot, this is what it looked like before the “Fall”ing began!

As you can see, I kept it pretty neutral and simple for the reveal and I do love my buffalo check chairs in the blue shade for the spring and fall.  However, it did seem a little off for the fall.  So, they’ve been stored for the time being.

So starting with all of the above goodies, I left the white plates and platters for the beginning of a beautiful fall canvas!

These multi colored plates with a pheasant on them were purchased probably 6 years ago at World Market and I still love them and they still sell them!  Then I just found some other items around my house with pops of fall colors to draw some interest and… vauala Layer #1!

For the second layer, I found a dried arrangement that I’ve also had for years that also was in the same “fall” color scheme!  I also added these fun Gracious Goods pieces.  It still looks pretty sterile right?

So, I added a few more fun accessories for texture and again, to add interest!  The little pumpkin is also from World Market and is Oven safe, so you can bake fun breads or soups in them!  I have 9 more for a table setting!  I picked up the chalkboard last fall in a local store.  I have used it for so many different things!  Several parties and events and now, fall in the dining room!  The lamp is fun and whimsy with a monkey statue, and also has great color to it!

I was pretty pleased at this point.  I just wanted to make the left side of my brain happy with more symmetry.  The orange on the left (via the pumpkin on the cake plate) called for some more color on the right.

I just filled this drink dispenser with cheap little plastic fall veggies from Hobby Lobby!  I am pleased with the outcome!

The only purchase I made this year are these pillow covers from Pottery Barn.  I love them and I can change out the covers for different seasons, such as Christmas, Valentines, etc.

To flank the side board, I had painted these chairs in Ben Moore Kensington Blue for a fun pop of color!  I can’t bare a world without color!

Now we can’t forget something for the table!  Although, I LOVE fresh flower, so do our cats as it turns out, and to save their lives (as I might hurt them if they break another vase) I thought it wise to come up with another option for a center piece!

The block of wood is from Pottery Barn as well.  I’ve had it for about 3 years and love it for wine and cheese dinners, or almost any season of the year!  And these velvet pumpkins are so popular right now!  You can find them, truly, in any color you can think of!  Even leopard print!

Fall is definitely not my favorite, this little seasonal design project was super fun!  Add some fall, scented candles and I’ll be ready for some Aggie Football!

Happy Connection Monday!
