I am a FIRM believer that your entry should display your personality almost more than any other space in your home. It is where you display your personality (that runs through every room) for the first impression.
What does your entry say about you and your family?…
This is my entry. My husband calls this wallpaper the “comic Strip”. Which I love, because I believe it is an announcement to my guests that they’re about to go on a FUN ride! I want our guests to come in and escape from their problems. I want them to feel instantly uplifted and welcome all the time!
I absolutely love this entry by Miles Redd! The cobalt lacquered walls combined with the red door and black and white floor create an environment for memories to be made! I can’t even fathom walking into this space without smiling!
This entry is certainly more traditional than the last, but it says to me that the homeowners aren’t afraid to take chances and while they are traditional they certainly aren’t stale. The apple green pop in the midst of the sea blue walls is definitely not a combo you see often! However it is toned down and balanced by the painting and the touches of black and white.
Back to the wow factor! These walls are S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G. But notice how the furniture and rug look like they came straight from an estate sale? Again, glamming up a traditional style is such a fabulous idea! And I would LOVE to see the front of the house with that blue door!!
It’s not essential that you go way out of your comfort zone! I love this entry! It is a simple white palate with touches of coral. The coral definitely makes a statement and creates a feeling of interest and timeless beauty.
I really like this traditional entry! Another trick is to pull a color out of your wallpaper or rug to use on the front door! This looks like a peaceful farm or ranch house to me. I want to come in and look around!
And finally this entry is sure to welcome guests! You don’t need a huge entry to interject lots of detail to make your guests want to stand in that space for a bit just to take it all in! This entry is a great example! First, look up at that ceiling! Wow! If you have a wall covering that you love, don’t forget your ceilings as an option! Then continue down the wall to the next wall covering! So beautiful! The door and the sconces flanking it are not to be overlooked either! What an amazing entry! Right!
What do you do to show your guests what they’re “getting into” in your entry? I’d LOVE to see!
Happy Connection Monday!
