I LOVE reading. Books are such a great way to let your mind take a break from your day and immerse yourself into learning about others’ lives, discovering new ideas and ways to look at life, or completely experience another story. Beautiful language and thoughtfully written plots can capture you for hours in a book! So for all the other book lovers out there, try to incorporate books into your home decor. This passion of yours should be on display for all to see!

If you have space under your stairs and are dying to do something more than just have a boring ole coat closet, transform that space into a reading nook! Nothing is better than having a cozy place to curl up with your newest read.

For those of you who like cook books incorporate them into your kitchen design instead of hiding them in your cabinets. They bring so much color to a kitchen!

If you don’t want to sacrifice a whole wall for a bookshelf, create knee-high bookcases with seating on the top. You won’t lose all of your wall space (or gorgeous view in this case) and you’ll have some extra seating on top of that!

And as much as I love color it shouldn’t surprise you that I love this! Not only can you store all of your books, but it also creates a beautiful and eye-catching wall of bright colors. You can design your shelves like this with a variety of colors or just pick one or two..

This is from my recent project over the past few weeks. I took two hundred books from local thrift stores and spray painted some white, some pink and recovered some in a green fabric. This is an awesome DIY project if you have some time you can spend, because the end results are so fun and you are able to pick exactly what colors you want!

But if you don’t have the time, you can go to Juniper Books and buy books wrapped in the color of your choice by the foot.

I also stumbled across this creative DIY for a book lover. Find your favorite pages or lines from books and keep the books open to those pages to create a unique and personalized headboard to you!

So, how are you/do you decorate with books?  Any clever ideas?

Happy Connection Monday!
