Paige is a Jesus loving, beach combing, wine drinking, color loving Georgian whom I find much inspiration from on a weekly basis!  Here’s what she has to share…

Paige, Tell me about you and what inspired you to begin blogging?

“I began blogging in 2007 as a way to stay creative during a hard time in our family. Our middle child had been diagnosed with a long list of developemental delays and learning issues and needed quite a bit of therapy in a short time to make some real changes in his life. He was barely six at the time and we were told we needed to intervene before he was 8 to make a big difference in his learning ability. None of the therapy was covered by insurance and I needed a way to keep my mind creative and to showcase items from my monogram business. Looking back it was the only thing I have done that I really didn’t think about, I just sort of made the decision and did it. The first posts are rather basic but it grew over the years into the brand it is today.”

How have you grown from the evolution of The Pink Clutch?

“I have grown and matured so much over the last years and the blog has along with me. There were times I wasn’t inspired and the blog shows it. Twice along the way I completely reinvented it, once to move from a mommy blogger to more design influence and then more recently to a five day a week design blog. The blog has given me confidence in myself as I have transformed as a woman, mother and wife. As I have needed certain things in my life I had a place to write about them. More recently it has become a place to gather all of the things I find that inspire me. This has been the recipe to grow my tiny blog into a brand. It has been an amazing ride and most recently grown out of control. I love to watch it all happen!”

Like me, you love color! But I am always inspired by the way you mix pattern in a space and on your person (Paige has darling personal style)!  How do you make these selections?

“My background is fashion and I view a room just the same way I used to put together an outfit for a living. I start with one piece and just add on from there. I am drawn to pattern and will choose a pattern over a solid any day of the week. I think my love for patterns makes me want to see a ton of them in the same space. As I type I am sitting in my office noticing that my solid walls and solid drapes are getting old. Those panels need some pattern like STAT. Too many solids makes me crave some diversity with pattern.”

What current trend do you feel drawn to and why?

“I am loving seeing so many people drawn to the bright and happy glossy life of Palm Beach. Growing up in Florida homes filled with color along with bright colored exteriors was a way of life. I love seeing so many embrace it. It fills my beach loving heart with joy! Color gives me energy and seeing so much of it in so many places is a good thing!”

What is your favorite place to find design inspiration?

“Instagram for sure. It is the perfect quick visual spot to find incredible people, designers and amazing photos. I am an addict for sure.”

What is your favorite room in your home?

“Hmm, that is a toss up between the dining room and the kitchen. The dining room is pink and glossy and makes me want to throw a party. The kitchen is happy and bright and makes me want to gather my loved ones for a long meal and a game night.”

You also have a large family, and I love how important they are to you! Can you give your best tips on how to get it all done and still have time to connect with your family?

“We are a party of six with crazy schedules. With one in college and a husband who travels it is a challenge to find time to be together, but it is a priority to me. I insist on dinner together, technology free, to connect. Even if we find ourselves in a lively discussion we are still all together. I only work from 9 to 2:30 to make sure I am present and available for my kids. They need me less than they used to, but I am still waiting in case they need to chat or just want to hang. Being present for those you love is non negotiable. I grew up with a mom who was busy and I remember craving that time. I would rather them choose to do something without me than want to be with me and find me busy. Even with older children it makes me happy that they want to be with me. Nothing makes me happier than quality time.”

What is your favorite way to connect with your family? (eating out, vacations, traditions)

“I am a big fan of games, cards and scrabble and we watch a lot of movies. Their laughter is the best medicine in the world. When my husband grills we have people flock and dinner for six can easily turn into 12. I love that.”
